This interview is a piece of music history. We are proud to have been given permission from Julia Baird to release it. A cozy chat in 1987 between McCartney, then aged 45 and Julia Baird, John Lennon's half-sister and a friend of The Beatles.Recorded as research for Julia's 1988 HarperCollins book John Lennon, My Brother. McCartney discusses the early days of The Beatles, focusing almost exclusively on the '50s and early '60s.
